Psychological Support for Primary Schools

Are you a primary school looking for psychological support? At Little Minds Child Psychology, we partner with schools to provide flexible, evidence-informed services tailored to your needs.

Services we currently offer include:

  • DET Disability Inclusion Profile application support: This involves observation of the student, liaising with relevant educational support team, questionnaire administration (if required), and report production.

  • Small-group programs for students: Each small-group program is specifically designed to explore a specific psychological concept and obtain a deeper understanding through a collaborative and creative (and fun!) approach. These programs also provide the opportunity for connection with like-minded peers. Group topics we offer include:

    • Spoon Theory for Young People (for students aged 9 - 12): This multi-week group program explores fluctuating capacity through Spoon Theory (created by Christine Miserandino, utilising resources created by Adelle at Neurodivergent Ally) to help support young individuals understand their fluctuating energy capacity, the impact this has on their functioning, and to develop strategies to manage their energy more effectively.

    • Body Power Pack for Young Children (for students aged 6 - 8): This multi-week group program explores the concept of fluctuating capacity through the idea of a Body Power Pack and Body Battery (utilising resources created by Sandhya Menon) to help support young children understand their fluctuating energy capacity with the concept of a body battery, the impact this has on their daily functioning, and to develop strategies to manage their body battery more effectively.

  • Teacher professional development: Engaging educational workshops for educators within the community. Each workshop lasts up to 90 minutes (including Q&A time) and is designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of a specific psychological topic and provide attendees the opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion. Workshop topics we currently offer include:

    • Spoon Theory for Educators: This workshop introduces the concept of Spoon Theory (created by Christine Miserandino) to help parents and educators better understand the fluctuating capacity levels and self-care needs of their children and students.

    • Affirming and Inclusive Classrooms: This workshop introduces the importance of creating inclusive learning environments that support diverse learning needs and promote a sense of belonging and safety within the educational environment for all children.

Schools are encouraged to enquire via email to discuss these services and associated fees.
